Logistics Specialist Shipping (f/m/d)

Location: Grand-Quevilly (76)

Type of Contract: Short Term Contract (CDD 9 months) – Replacement of Maternity Leave

Role Overview:

Contribute in the implementation of an optimized logistic network for BU Fertilizer by optimizing logistics ship and warehousing costs.

Source, select, contract and manage a reliable supplier base, in co-operation with Distribution (including claims management).

Monitor performance of Logistics Service Providers in order to reduce costs and improve service levels.

Continuously observe freight markets and react in time on changes to optimize logistics costs. Screening and follow-up of shipping market

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for negotiating spot deals in case of transport capacity bottlenecks with the Logistics Service Providers
  • Negotiates storage and handling contract conditions with third-party port Warehouse providers
  • Drive the necessary actions to secure a highly effective contract management, Logistics Service Provider performance is being achieved
  • Support the implementation of new logistics contracts (Truck, Ship or Train) within the organization
  • Monitor handling activities in ports and/or landlocked external warehouses
  • Register logistics and port warehouse related complaints, monitors status and communicates progress both internally and externally
  • Steer and work in close co-operation with Logistics, Customer Service Center, Business Centre, Sales and Material Handling colleagues to secure the operational implementation of the commercial transport agreements
  • Conduct Logistics Service Providers audits
  • Creation and follow up of reports and KPI’s for the department

Job requirements :

  • Business / commercial / logistics degree or similar secondary business education
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Relevant experience in Deepsea shipping environment (maritime agency, shipping companies, brokerage,  etc..) – (minimum 5 years)
  • Good knowledge of SAP, reporting tools (Power BI…),  and Transport Management Systems
  • Good communication  and presentation skills
  • Negotiator
