Customs Coordinator

About The Role

The Customs Coordinator ensures compliance with customs and export control regulations across the assigned locations while supporting quality checks and the administration of customs-related documentation. Acting as a key point of contact, the role provides guidance on customs and export control matters to internal stakeholders and external service providers. The Customs Coordinator works closely with the Customs Specialist and the Customs Team Leader, leveraging strong expertise in customs regulations, export controls, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Helping to ensure the company has processes, procedures, and tools, to comply with applicable Customs and Export Control rules and regulations in the assigned locations.
  • Follow-up of the administration of licenses of the assigned locations.
  • Prepare working instructions for external agents, logistics service providers, and subcontractors
  • Monitor actively legal developments, inform the organization, and implement changes if applicable.
  • Work closely with IT specialists to develop efficient solutions to new legal developments and/or new/ changed business structures.
  • Give expert support in case of procurement and supply chain issues regarding Customs and Export Control matters.
  • Manage the Preferential Origin Process (calculation, legal support, monitoring)
  • Trouble shooting for CSRs and sales managers (blocked transports, customer logistics, procurement, etc)
  • Back-up of other Customs team members
  • Perform Sanction Party List (SPL) screening in GTS
  • Processed daily request from Customs Service Providers and provide instructions for import customs clerance from third countries

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent education/working experience
  • Customs certification in the relevant areas or similar post-graduate qualification
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken at business level
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Customs, also experience in Procurement or Supply Chain
  • Solid relevant SAP know-how; Basic VAT Know-How
  • Profound knowledge of Customs and Export Control rules and regulations
  • Cooperative and determined
