IT Workplace Engineer (f/m/d)

Role overview

As an IT Engineer at LAT Nitrogen, you will ensure the operational excellence of our IT workplace services in the different countries of our operations. Depending on your experience, you will focus on one or more of the following domains (Microsoft MS365, Windows 365, Collaboration tools, Mailing tools, Device management & Software distribution, Desktop Supporting & Security Services) of technical responsibility.

Your role will be crucial in operating, optimizing, and developing the LAT Nitrogen IT Workplace environment. You will use your skills and experience for evaluation and implementation of new systems.

The role will require collaboration with team colleagues across all LAT Nitrogen locations, experts from our mother company, and external partners.

This global role will be reporting to the Team Lead Workplace, and occasional traveling is expected. Part of this role is regular participation in the on-call duty service outside standard working hours. The location is Linz.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of IT digital workplace (including security measures), ensuring seamless functionality in Data Centers, in Remote Locations & in Cloud.
• Collaborate with various IT functions, particularly with the IT Service Desk Team & Infrastructure team, to ensure efficient execution of IT processes.
• Drive and actively contribute to incident management and problem management activities with a focus on root cause elimination, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of the end user experience.
• Contribute actively to the development and maintenance of the IT workplace related documentation, including knowledge base articles, configuration standards, application guides, device lifecycle information, and hardware/software inventories.
• Assess and implement new services, functionalities, and apps to improve end user digital experience and efficiency.
• Implement new workplace solutions and coordinate with teammates located in the other company locations, experts of our mother company and external service providers for operations and support.
• Contribute to IT projects and occasionally lead digital workplace related projects
• Contribute to the development, improvement, and testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans related to workplace services, identity platforms, and endpoint management systems.
• Mentor junior engineers supporting their technical and professional development.

• Strong involvement in all IT process activities, including IT operations, incident management, service request fulfillment, and change management.
• Continuous improvement of IT services to ensure they meet the security and efficiency standards.
• Proactive engagement with external IT providers and vendors.
• Support in KPI-based IT performance and quality management.

About you

• Technical expertise (at least two of the following):
  • Microsoft MS365, Collaboration, e-Mail services
  • Device Management & Software distribution
  • Desktop Supporting & Security Services
  • Active Directory, Entra ID, Monitoring and other applications supporting IT workplace
  • Public Cloud (Azure) services, W365
  • Excellent analytical, methodical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a multinational team spread across many locations.
• Relevant IT education, formal education can be substituted through significant work experience.
• Fluency in German and English, with additional European languages being a significant asset.

Required experience:

• Engineer: 3-5 years of experience in the defined field of technical responsibility

• Salary starting at € 56,000 for a 38-hour workweek, depending on experience and education
